My Story
As a kid, I was always painting or drawing. By the time I was a high school sophomore, though, I began comparing my artwork with others and gave into limiting beliefs like "I'm not talented enough." There went my creative spark! So, like all other good young adults, I focused on doing well in school so I could get into a good college and have a good career.
I have a Masters in Communication Management and consulted for 10 years at companies including Gap, Accenture, HP and Sony. Although I enjoyed the challenge of helping leaders and organizations manage change, I knew something was missing.
In 2003, my creativity was reignited. I started coaching certification through the Coaches Training Institute and began building my coaching practice while working full-time. I loved truly making a positive difference in people's lives. Around the same time I also took CTI's year-long leadership program which helped me claim my gifts as a strong yet gentle, feminine, creative leader.
I finally decided to flee Corporate America after co-facilitating a leadership retreat for a friend's non-profit and empowering participants to live their big dreams. I realized I needed to stop living my own dream "on-the-side." I needed to walk my talk!
I'm happy to say that in the spring of 2006, I made the leap from Corporate America to pursue my passions around creativity and coaching full-time.
I share my story so you know that I've been there, too. I've climbed the corporate ladder. I've followed the rules. And although I considered myself successful, I realized I was not as fulfilled as I could be if I lived more true to my values and vision. Now I am living the life of my dreams and am helping other women to do the same.
